What You'll Need
1/2 yard fabric
1 18 inch square pillow form
Measuring tape
Pins
Thread to match fabric and sewing needle
Instructions
1. Use the scissors to cut two pieces of fabric that are 18 inches by 18 inches.
2. Place the two pieces of fabric right sides together and pin around the edges.
3. Thread the sewing machine. Allow for a 1/2 inch seam allowance.
4. Use the sewing machine to stitch the two pieces of fabric together leaving a 4-inch opening on one side
5. Use the steam iron to press the seam open.
6. Turn the pillow right side out through the opening.
7. Stuff the pillow cover with the pillow form.
8. Fold the raw edges of the opening to the inside along the seam line and pin the opening closed.
9. Use a slip-stitch to hand-stitch the opening closed.
Additional tips
Cotton fabric is a good choice for beginners because it is easy to sew and care for.
Make a set of pillows in different colors and patterns to coordinate with your decor.
